Ancient Trees, Loch Droma, Scotland

Ancient Trees, Loch Droma, Scotland

These trees were partially felled in the 1950's to allow the flooding of a valley to form Loch Droma, which is contained by a concrete dam at the Ullapool end of the valley.

As the waters now subside you can see the remains of the forests around the edge of the loch.

The misty morning and dramatic sky enhance the dark and slightly eerie atmosphere of the location.
