1957 Ford Mercury Monterey

1957 Mercury Monterey

This photograph was taken at Lincoln Park Classic Car Show.

Ford introduced by Mercury in 1952, the Monterey was the only Mercury to be in continuous production throughout the 1960s, ceasing production in 1974.

The Tail Fin is so distinctive, Mercury carried a unique concave cove in the shape of a projectile, and doesn't take much imagination to visualize a rocket ending in a fiery tail where the V-shaped taillight is located. Viewed from the rear, the tail lights wrapped around from the side to form an angled "V" which was highly visible from both side and rear.
